Harrow gives in to his hatred of Avizandum, goes along with Viren's Dark Magic-inspired plan, and seeks the dragon out to kill him. Foil: To Callum, oddly enough, and in one particular instance.This flaw also gives him a highly conservative outlook on how things "should" be run in a monarchy like Katolis, leading him to alienate Viren, his closest advisor, at a crucial moment, sealing his fate. This provokes a Succession Crisis at the brink of an all-out war with Xadia. While on the positive side, he always stands firm for what he believes to be right, he also all but throws himself on the elves' swords because he thinks he deserves it. Fatal Flaw: Stubborn devotion to moral rectitude and honor. ![]() The statue we see of his late wife has the same design on her crown. Fashionable Asymmetry: His crown's design has the right section taller than the left, mimicking the towers of Katolis Castle.Face Death with Dignity: After the failure of the efforts to stop the forthcoming assassination attempt on his life by the vengeance-seeking Moonshadow Elves, he accepts that this may be the price he pays for after all the sins he's committed.Dub Name Change: The Dutch version changes Harrow to "Haron".Dreadlock Warrior: He wears his hair in dreadlocks, and as all of the royalty in Katolis, he is a trained fighter.Cool Crown: A golden crown with the front side resembling the uneven mountains of Katolis.Even Callum notes that Harrow probably knew he was a mage before Callum did. ![]() All of this was done to put Callum in the best possible position to learn magic and unlock the secrets of the centuries-old cube. He gifts him his iconic sketchbook when he's only five, and keeps the Key of Aaravos hidden until he's ready to hand it over to Callum. The Chessmaster: Harrow knew more about Callum's potential than he let on, even in his early years.King Harrow: The great illusion of childhood is that adults have all the power and freedom. When Callum sees a vision of King Harrow in his dreams, he's chained down to his throne. The Chains of Commanding: It's established early on that Harrow feels his kingly duties are a burden and it wears on him, especially after Sarai died, and in his last letter he urges Callum not to make the mistakes he did.When Callum learns from Rayla how Harrow killed the Dragon King in a bit of vengeful spite, he asks how a good man could do that. Broken Pedestal: Callum always looked up to his stepfather, seeing him as larger than life.Brainy Brunette: Harrow has black hair and is a wise man.Beware the Nice Ones: Harrow is a beloved king and father, but that didn't mean he wasn't capable of great anger. ![]()
